Do I need a city permit to rent a dumpster?
Whether or not you will need a permit depends on where you want to place the dumpster. If you want to place it on your private property (most commonly it is placed in a driveway), then you should have no issues and will not need to acquire a permit. The next most common place to put a dumpster is in the street, and since that is not privately owned property, you will need to get a permit to use that space for a number of days. Permit prices vary by location. We do need to have the permit before the dumpster can be dropped off to your site. Otherwise, we would not be able to deliver the dumpster on the site and you would be charged a trip free for an attempted/unsuccessfully delivery. If you are unsure about whether or not you will need a permit, you can ask one of our customer service representatives when you call in, and they will be able to help you out. They can also help you acquire the permit so you don't have to worry about it. At Budget Dumpster, we're all about making things easier for the customer.
Do I need more than one dumpster rental?
So you've filled up your dumpster and you find yourself still having more trash to get rid of. What do you do? It is possible with bigger projects that you will need to rent more than one dumpster. There are two different ways that you can do this. If you have ample space for us to place multiple dumpsters, you can rent more than one at one time. When you call to schedule the delivery, tell the customer service rep that you want two (or more) dumpsters delivered. If you don't have enough space on your property, you could also get a permit and place one of the dumpsters in the street. Use all of the dumpsters simultaneously until you are finished with them, then give us a call and we will come pick them up.
If your space is limited, or you want to avoid having to get a permit to put it in the street, there is a second option. You can rent a dumpster from us, have it dropped off where it is most convenient for you, and then fill it up like you normally would. When you call to schedule the delivery, you will only be requesting a single dumpster. When it is full, give us a call to pick it up, and request another dumpster. We will take the full one to the landfill, and then bring back an empty one and place it in the same spot for you to fill up again. Do this as many times as you like until your project is complete. Each time we bring back an empty one, you will be charged the same low flat rate and your 14-day rental period will start over.
