What Kinds of Trash Can Go in the Dumpster?

Most everyday trash can be tossed into our commercial dumpsters. This includes items such as food waste, paper products, plastics and just about whatever you would throw into your trash can at your house. Some things that cannot go into our dumpsters include hazardous waste and flammable debris. These can be materials such as medical waste, car batteries or anything covered in asbestos. We are not able to handle these kinds of materials because they pose a significant risk to the environment and to public health.

The disposal of medical waste also requires certain protocols and training that only a select few waste carriers can acquire. Please do your best to only use our dumpsters for everyday trash materials. If you come across any questions about what can and cannot go into our dumpsters, feel free to give us a call. How Do I Figure Out What Size Dumpster I Need?

Due to our wide availability of dumpsters, our customers can choose from permanent commercial dumpsters ranging in size from 2 to 8 yards. Choosing which size container you will need depends upon how much trash you accumulate, the type of business and how often you want your dumpster to be emptied. For example if you own a small office building and want your dumpster to be emptied every week, you could probably benefit from our 2 yard dumpster. If you own a medium sized restaurant and want to have your dumpster emptied every week, you would probably need our 4 yard dumpster.

It is important to remember that on average, a restaurant will have more trash to dispose of than an equivalently sized office building. One tip for choosing what size dumpster you will need is to visit another business similar to yours and seeing what size dumpster they utilize. We rented a 20 yd dumpster for 2 weeks, with the rental period ending on 8/28/24. The service when I ordered/confirmed was quick and great, the dropoff was simple and easy, and scheduling pickup was simple as well. I had NO issues with this company or dumpster until the day of pickup. READ HERE: On the day of pickup, at 5:48am, I got a notification of a $74 charge to my credit card (the card that was used to pay upfront for the rental). I immediately emailed customer support and asked what the charge was for because we STILL HAD the dumpster at our home so I was confused - it had not been removed yet since it was so early in the day. I figured it was an honest billing mistake. The customer sevice person emailed me back at 7:45am, saying that the $74 was an overage fee since our dumpster went over the 1-ton weight limit. BUT THE DUMPSTER HADN'T EVEN BEEN PICKED UP YET. I STILL gave the benefit of the doubt, wondering if there was a censor of some sort on the dumpsters where they can tell the weight digitally from afar - but THEN, I read some of the other bad reviews here, and it seems this is a recurring thing. They charged my card for additional weight before they even removed/weighed the dumpster - had I not set alerts up to my phone, I likely wouldn't have realized this extra charge for quite awhile (if ever). I messaged with customer support who said they'll look into it with accounting, and I asked for photo/documentation proof of the final weight of our dumpster - to prove they charge fairly and aren't just adding how ever much weight they want knowing there's no way for customers to find out. The woman told me that IF this was an accurate charge, she'd provide the weight ticket from the landfill (proving they do NOT weigh it until it's at the landfill which would've been hours after my 5:48am credit charge). Support came back saying it WAS a "mistake," and I shouldn't have been charged that - and they did reverse it quickly; but I am left to wonder based on this experience and the past reviews if this was genuinely a mistake, or if this is something they do to get extra money every so often in hopes that people don't notice the additional charge to their credit cards. Good experience other than now feeling like they tried to charge me extra unfairly - and likely will not use this 3rd party company again for that reason alone.
