Where Does the Garbage Go?

Our waste management practices are a lot like you might imagine them. Our roll off dumpster rental service in the Marbury area doesn't use those well known dump trucks that you see picking up your curbside trash each week to pick up waste. Instead of putting your trash on the curb, you will fill up a dumpster that will sit on your property for as long as you need it. Once you're all done and your dumpster is full, we come collect it and take your trash off the place where it's best suited.

We take your waste to the right type of facility for that particular type of refuse. Different types of trash yard waste, home refuse, construction debris they each need to be handled differently, so they are taken to different centers based on the type of waste you specified that you'd be tossing away.

Most trash items get taken to a landfill, where they will be strategically placed to maximize the amount of time it takes for them to decompose. However, we also remove most of the recyclable items plastics, metals, glass and construction items and haul those off to a recycling center, where they'll be turned into materials to make new things.

We rented a 20 yd dumpster for 2 weeks, with the rental period ending on 8/28/24. The service when I ordered/confirmed was quick and great, the dropoff was simple and easy, and scheduling pickup was simple as well. I had NO issues with this company or dumpster until the day of pickup. READ HERE: On the day of pickup, at 5:48am, I got a notification of a $74 charge to my credit card (the card that was used to pay upfront for the rental). I immediately emailed customer support and asked what the charge was for because we STILL HAD the dumpster at our home so I was confused - it had not been removed yet since it was so early in the day. I figured it was an honest billing mistake. The customer sevice person emailed me back at 7:45am, saying that the $74 was an overage fee since our dumpster went over the 1-ton weight limit. BUT THE DUMPSTER HADN'T EVEN BEEN PICKED UP YET. I STILL gave the benefit of the doubt, wondering if there was a censor of some sort on the dumpsters where they can tell the weight digitally from afar - but THEN, I read some of the other bad reviews here, and it seems this is a recurring thing. They charged my card for additional weight before they even removed/weighed the dumpster - had I not set alerts up to my phone, I likely wouldn't have realized this extra charge for quite awhile (if ever). I messaged with customer support who said they'll look into it with accounting, and I asked for photo/documentation proof of the final weight of our dumpster - to prove they charge fairly and aren't just adding how ever much weight they want knowing there's no way for customers to find out. The woman told me that IF this was an accurate charge, she'd provide the weight ticket from the landfill (proving they do NOT weigh it until it's at the landfill which would've been hours after my 5:48am credit charge). Support came back saying it WAS a "mistake," and I shouldn't have been charged that - and they did reverse it quickly; but I am left to wonder based on this experience and the past reviews if this was genuinely a mistake, or if this is something they do to get extra money every so often in hopes that people don't notice the additional charge to their credit cards. Good experience other than now feeling like they tried to charge me extra unfairly - and likely will not use this 3rd party company again for that reason alone.
