How To Fill The Dumpster

Renting a dumpster from Budget Dumpster comes with a degree of responsibility. There are right ways and wrong ways to fill our containers and the wrong ways can accrue an extra charge. Please make it a priority to follow all of our guidelines while you fill the container. We will explain what items can and cannot go into our dumpsters at the time of your order and we will explain more of these details in the email confirmation you will receive once you place your order. If you find you have any questions while you are filling your container, give us a call and we will be more than happy to answer your questions.

One important thing to keep in mind while you are filling your dumpster rental in Rockville is to make sure you are filing it as evenly as possible. This is especially important if you are disposing of extremely heavy debris. To ensure you fill the container evenly, you can utilize the door on the side of the dumpster to walk or wheel heavy items into the unit. An unevenly filled dumpster can damage our trucks as well as your property. To avoid any extra fees or charges, please toss items throughout the entire dumpster.

Another important aspect to keep in mind while using your dumpster is to make sure you do not overfill the container. Each one of our dumpsters comes with an accompanying weight limit that cannot be exceeded. An overweight dumpster will be cause for an additional fee. We rented a 20 yd dumpster for 2 weeks, with the rental period ending on 8/28/24. The service when I ordered/confirmed was quick and great, the dropoff was simple and easy, and scheduling pickup was simple as well. I had NO issues with this company or dumpster until the day of pickup. READ HERE: On the day of pickup, at 5:48am, I got a notification of a $74 charge to my credit card (the card that was used to pay upfront for the rental). I immediately emailed customer support and asked what the charge was for because we STILL HAD the dumpster at our home so I was confused - it had not been removed yet since it was so early in the day. I figured it was an honest billing mistake. The customer sevice person emailed me back at 7:45am, saying that the $74 was an overage fee since our dumpster went over the 1-ton weight limit. BUT THE DUMPSTER HADN'T EVEN BEEN PICKED UP YET. I STILL gave the benefit of the doubt, wondering if there was a censor of some sort on the dumpsters where they can tell the weight digitally from afar - but THEN, I read some of the other bad reviews here, and it seems this is a recurring thing. They charged my card for additional weight before they even removed/weighed the dumpster - had I not set alerts up to my phone, I likely wouldn't have realized this extra charge for quite awhile (if ever). I messaged with customer support who said they'll look into it with accounting, and I asked for photo/documentation proof of the final weight of our dumpster - to prove they charge fairly and aren't just adding how ever much weight they want knowing there's no way for customers to find out. The woman told me that IF this was an accurate charge, she'd provide the weight ticket from the landfill (proving they do NOT weigh it until it's at the landfill which would've been hours after my 5:48am credit charge). Support came back saying it WAS a "mistake," and I shouldn't have been charged that - and they did reverse it quickly; but I am left to wonder based on this experience and the past reviews if this was genuinely a mistake, or if this is something they do to get extra money every so often in hopes that people don't notice the additional charge to their credit cards. Good experience other than now feeling like they tried to charge me extra unfairly - and likely will not use this 3rd party company again for that reason alone.
