Some items are unaccepted by the landfills for a variety of reasons, usually because it is unsafe to do so. Some things will not decompose, and others will contaminate the land. We cannot take any hazardous chemicals or materials, wet paints, tires, railroad ties, or appliances that have Freon in them. Some locations have additional restrictions or charge extra to take large items, such as electronics or mattresses.
