Do I need a permit?
Permits are required on rentals that are going to be delivered to locations considered public property. This can be the case for both commercial deliveries as well as residential deliveries. In either case, if the dumpster is not going to be delivered to private property, a permit must be obtained through the city. This permit must also be present on the scheduled delivery date as well. Public property includes situations where even a part of the dumpster (i.e. not the whole unit) is placed on the street or even on part of the sidewalk. Keep this in mind when you are scheduling your roll-off rental. Our drivers will not make delivery to a location that requires a permit but you have not obtained one. Avoid the hassle of having to schedule delivery a second time and avoid a costly trip fee as well.
What's a trip fee?
Trip fees are added on to an order when one of our terms of service has been violated. Failure to obtain a permit when one is required would be a situation that results in a trip fee. Over-filling your dumpster is another instance where a trip fee would be assessed. If we cannot reach you, either during delivery or waste removal, this would mean a trip fee as well. Trip fees are costly, they are typically around one hundred dollars, depending on where they occur and the specific situation. They are also automatically assessed to the account and they are nonrefundable, regardless of the instance in which they occur.
