Where do I keep my dumpster?
Most customers choose to keep their dumpster rental on their property, usually a driveway or parking lot. Driveways are more common for residential projects such as remodels or general cleanups. Parking lots are generally used for commercial work whether it's cleaning out a warehouse or hauling debris from a renovated store. Other projects such as construction work tend to use whatever open space is available that has a paved surface. We require all delivery areas to have either a concrete or asphalt surface to make delivery and pickup easier.
If you don't have a suitable space on your property for an open-top container, you can request a street permit from Kennedy's building department. This will allow us to park your open-top on the street by your home or work site.
How long do I have my dumpster for?
Upon delivery, you have a 14 day rental period that is covered by the initial rental cost. After those 10 days you can keep it for however long you wish, but you will incur extension fees that are charged at a rate of $10 per day. It is important to remember that we will not automatically schedule a pickup for your dumpster. You must call to request a pickup in advance. Pickups will usually be scheduled for 1-2 days after the request has been made due to our driver's delivery schedules.
Are there any fees I should be aware of?
Customers only incur fees when a dumpster is either overfilled or our driver is unable to retrieve your dumpster. The former situation occurs when a customer has filled the dumpster beyond its weight capacity and will therefore incur an overage fee. The latter situation occurs when our driver is sent out on a scheduled pickup, but is unable to load up the dumpster because it is blocked by a car or other obstruction.
