Do I need a permit?

If you are going to have your dumpster delivered to a location that you privately own, there is no need for a permit before delivery. However, if any part of your open-top order is going to be placed on public property, please obtain a permit before we arrive with the rental. This includes residential deliveries where part of the dumpster might end up on the sidewalk or city street. It is a good idea to measure the intended delivery area to make sure that it is large enough to handle a roll-off rental. If you do need a permit, these can be obtained through the city. If our driver shows up and you require one but it is not already present, they will not handle delivery on your dumpster. This will also result in a nonrefundable trip fee being assessed to your account as well.

How do I schedule waste removal?

When you are finished with the waste container, give us a call to schedule your pickup. Please note that we do not automatically come out and handle your waste removal without you first calling and asking us to do so. Make sure that you call us and not the number that might be posted on the side of the dumpster. Budget Dumpster handles every part of the rental for you to help avoid any confusion or hassle along the way. Also, please be finished with the unit before you call. Our drivers are unable to wait around while you continue to fill the dumpster with refuse.

We rented a 20 yd dumpster for 2 weeks, with the rental period ending on 8/28/24. The service when I ordered/confirmed was quick and great, the dropoff was simple and easy, and scheduling pickup was simple as well. I had NO issues with this company or dumpster until the day of pickup. READ HERE: On the day of pickup, at 5:48am, I got a notification of a $74 charge to my credit card (the card that was used to pay upfront for the rental). I immediately emailed customer support and asked what the charge was for because we STILL HAD the dumpster at our home so I was confused - it had not been removed yet since it was so early in the day. I figured it was an honest billing mistake. The customer sevice person emailed me back at 7:45am, saying that the $74 was an overage fee since our dumpster went over the 1-ton weight limit. BUT THE DUMPSTER HADN'T EVEN BEEN PICKED UP YET. I STILL gave the benefit of the doubt, wondering if there was a censor of some sort on the dumpsters where they can tell the weight digitally from afar - but THEN, I read some of the other bad reviews here, and it seems this is a recurring thing. They charged my card for additional weight before they even removed/weighed the dumpster - had I not set alerts up to my phone, I likely wouldn't have realized this extra charge for quite awhile (if ever). I messaged with customer support who said they'll look into it with accounting, and I asked for photo/documentation proof of the final weight of our dumpster - to prove they charge fairly and aren't just adding how ever much weight they want knowing there's no way for customers to find out. The woman told me that IF this was an accurate charge, she'd provide the weight ticket from the landfill (proving they do NOT weigh it until it's at the landfill which would've been hours after my 5:48am credit charge). Support came back saying it WAS a "mistake," and I shouldn't have been charged that - and they did reverse it quickly; but I am left to wonder based on this experience and the past reviews if this was genuinely a mistake, or if this is something they do to get extra money every so often in hopes that people don't notice the additional charge to their credit cards. Good experience other than now feeling like they tried to charge me extra unfairly - and likely will not use this 3rd party company again for that reason alone.
