What should I know about filling the dumpster?

Keep this information in mind when you are filling the waste container to help avoid any issues when we arrive for pickup. We can't stress enough how important it is that you are properly filling the open-top order. For starters, regardless of the refuse that you are tossing, please make sure that you are filling your rental evenly throughout. This means that you are not letting one end of the container get filled higher than the other. Every dumpster that you rent from us is going to come with a door attached which can be utilized to enter the unit and spread the refuse around. Please remember that our drivers are not going to be able to help you move or remove refuse when they arrive onsite for your waste removal.

When it comes to tossing household debris or construction debris, make sure that you keep your dumpster filled level with the height of the walls. Do not let any of the refuse go above or beyond the dimensions of the dumpster. By law, we are not allowed on the road with such a unit, this is not a company policy. When it comes to heavy debris, please do not fill your roll-off rental any higher than halfway up the height of the walls. This is due to the incurred weight of these substances. Also, please do not mix various forms of heavy debris. If you have more than one type, you should rent as many dumpsters as you have heavy debris types.

We rented a 20 yd dumpster for 2 weeks, with the rental period ending on 8/28/24. The service when I ordered/confirmed was quick and great, the dropoff was simple and easy, and scheduling pickup was simple as well. I had NO issues with this company or dumpster until the day of pickup. READ HERE: On the day of pickup, at 5:48am, I got a notification of a $74 charge to my credit card (the card that was used to pay upfront for the rental). I immediately emailed customer support and asked what the charge was for because we STILL HAD the dumpster at our home so I was confused - it had not been removed yet since it was so early in the day. I figured it was an honest billing mistake. The customer sevice person emailed me back at 7:45am, saying that the $74 was an overage fee since our dumpster went over the 1-ton weight limit. BUT THE DUMPSTER HADN'T EVEN BEEN PICKED UP YET. I STILL gave the benefit of the doubt, wondering if there was a censor of some sort on the dumpsters where they can tell the weight digitally from afar - but THEN, I read some of the other bad reviews here, and it seems this is a recurring thing. They charged my card for additional weight before they even removed/weighed the dumpster - had I not set alerts up to my phone, I likely wouldn't have realized this extra charge for quite awhile (if ever). I messaged with customer support who said they'll look into it with accounting, and I asked for photo/documentation proof of the final weight of our dumpster - to prove they charge fairly and aren't just adding how ever much weight they want knowing there's no way for customers to find out. The woman told me that IF this was an accurate charge, she'd provide the weight ticket from the landfill (proving they do NOT weigh it until it's at the landfill which would've been hours after my 5:48am credit charge). Support came back saying it WAS a "mistake," and I shouldn't have been charged that - and they did reverse it quickly; but I am left to wonder based on this experience and the past reviews if this was genuinely a mistake, or if this is something they do to get extra money every so often in hopes that people don't notice the additional charge to their credit cards. Good experience other than now feeling like they tried to charge me extra unfairly - and likely will not use this 3rd party company again for that reason alone.
