What should I know when picking a delivery area?
You should keep a few things in mind when you are deciding on an area where you would like to drop your dumpster. Most importantly, make sure that you have permission to receive an open-top order. This means you are either the owner of that location, or you have permission from the owner. If any part of the dumpster is going to be placed on public property, a permit with the city is required before we arrive onsite. This includes residential deliveries where part of the dumpster may end up on the sidewalk or in the street. When it comes to the location itself, it should be easily reached by a flatbed truck with a dumpster on the back. This means anything narrow like an alley way simply will not be able to be reached by us. We need a properly paved road that is wide enough to fit our truck and without any low-hanging branches or wires.
For the area itself, please find a spot that is paved or can accommodate a dumpster. For example, if you have a grassy location, you would need to put down pieces of plywood to cover the area where the dumpster is placed. Also, please remove any vehicles or other obstructions that can get in the way of us reaching you with the dumpster or handling your waste removal. And if there is a gate that must be accessed, we ask that you are present onsite to let us inside. Our drivers are not going to be able to wait around if they cannot reach your location. In this instance they would leave, you would need to reschedule, and your account would be assessed a trip fee.
